Selmer Bassmaster 50

Another new one for me, The Selmer Truvoice Bassmaster 50. Less common I believe than the better known Treble & Bass 50 but a very close relative.

This one was bought in poor state with a view to getting it working. Apart from the cosmetics there were a load of problems with the circuit, someone had previously tried to convert it to diode rectification rather than the original valve rectifier. My hunch is that this then blew up the power transformer and whoever owned it gave up and left it in a cupbaord somewhere.

New filter caps, new power transformer, new valve rectifer and a few new components and it was back up and running, added a new bias adjustment pot which will help us in the future with new output valves.

Two EL34s and a big chunky output transformer - a lovely british sounding amp.
